This learning module goes into more details from each of the researchers from module 1. The importance and timeliness of this topic is such that we included this additional opportunity to delve into the details of current research and findings these of these experts. The research is pioneering work to track infections in the community through the wastewater. While this has become more common, these researchers were among the earliest. Both experts have some very interesting lessons to share.
At the end of this learning module, participants will be able to
- assess the significance of this pioneering research;
- identify possibilities to apply lessons learned to their own community; and
- discuss how wastewater could provide early warning of outbreaks and enable better resource allocation to affected areas.
