This webcast took place on Wednesday, December 13, 2017, from 1:00 - 2:30 PM Eastern.

Many active potable reuse facilities currently utilize reverse osmosis, which typically results in a brine waste stream that must be disposed of. This can be a costly and impractical process for many inland communities, which has led to the development of alternative treatment approaches using ozone and biologically active filtration. Our speakers will discuss two WE&RF research projects that focus on ozone-based treatment processes for potable reuse. These projects feature pilot studies on ozone-based treatment in Nevada and Georgia to demonstrate this alternative approach.

    Speakers:

    • Vijay Sundaram, Regional Practice Leader, Wastewater at Stantec
    • Denise Funk, Division Director, Operations Technical Services at Gwinnett County Department of Water Resources
