This session focuses on uniform guidance for the design of a metabolic selector for both activated sludge and sludge densification or granular sludge. At the end of this learning module, participants will be able to
- discuss the metabolic selector and its ability to remove the majority of sCOD during the selector HRT, produce EPS, and improve sludge settleability; and
- describe the design guidelines with a kinetic model that has a mechanistic foundation.
