With the impacts of the recent pandemic, more utilities are turning to digital solutions to help solve their problems. This module explores some of the more common place digital tools, including predictive analytics, using different data sources, and ways to combine the data sources for more fully inform decision making. Several technology providers, consultants, and utilities will share their experiences and help you integrate data solutions.
At the conclusion of this learning module, participants will be able to
- describe how state-of-the-art machine learning tools can be used to accurately predict influent flow to a treatment plant in advance as a function of explanatory variables;
- list benefits of comprehensive and sound technology planning;
- discuss how internal and external partnerships are key to integrating data solutions; and
- give examples of ways to leverage combined Information Technology (IT), Operational Technology (OT), and Engineering Technology (ET) worlds.
