This webcast took place on Thursday, November 21, 2019, from 1:00 - 2:30 PM Eastern.

For many small communities, the most important, and perhaps the most difficult, part of the water and wastewater project implementation is securing the funding. Elevating the difficulty of the situation is the fact that there may be fewer residents in small communities to help pay for the project. In addition, small communities may have fewer experts and resources available to help find funding.

In this webinar session, we are going to learn about a few traditional and creative funding options that small communities can explore. Although this webinar is not intended to be a comprehensive guide to all funding sources for the small communities, there is no doubt that you will find information in it that will help start your search for appropriate funding resources. Due to the time constraints, we are only going to cover information on a couple of funding and financing sources and case studies on how small communities are taking initiative to attract growth in their community and fund water and wastewater projects at the same time.

Speakers:

  • Joseph Dorava, USDA Rural Development
  • Bryce Davis, City of Eagle Grove, Iowa
