This learning module delves into emerging waterborne infectious diseases. The pandemic reminds us that the water sector is very familiar with infectious diseases. The long-term strategies to deal with these diseases, along with the short term reminders of good practices at water resource recovery facilities, are discussed by public health and disinfection experts.
At the end of this learning module, particpants will be able to
- recognize how to best protect workers and the public health in the face of emerging infectious diseases;
- identify the industry's priorities and protections related to emerging infectious diseases; and
- discuss the relevant topics from the occupational health perspective.
