The Digital Twin concept has been applied to water resource recovery facilities for over two decades, with recent increased attention driven by the digital revolution and by a change in terminology from 'Model' to 'Digital Twin.' This module explores the benefits and challenges of Digital Twins.
At the conclusion of this learning module, participants will be able to
- describe what a Digital Twin is;
- list benefits of Digital Twins;
- identify what the challenges and pitfalls are; and
- discern if Digital Twins are the future of WRRF operation or just another over-hyped technology.
