This is a WEFTEC Curated Short Course, compiled from the most topical and in-demand content from WEFTEC and other WEF events.

This short course covers many key issues in managing collection systems. The first module includes an overview or “101” of the issues provided by world-renowned experts. The second module covers the pesky inflow and infiltration issue and ways to find and fix it. The third module instructs on the important quality assurance and quality control procedures needed during various rehabilitation scenarios. The final module deals with construction of a force main.

At the end of this short course, participants will be able to:

  • describe program management strategies;
  • recognize sanitary sewer investigative techniques;
  • explain ways to address I&I;
  • outline sewer rehabilitation principles and important QA/QC steps;
  • describe flow bypassing during construction;
  • give examples of preventative maintenance; and
  • summarize important points for consideration of installing redundant force mains.

This WEFTEC Curated Short Course consists of 4 learning modules (Collection Systems 101, Inflow and Infiltration, In-Field Quality Control Measures, Collection Systems Force Mains) as well as some bonus content and additional resources. On completion of all four learning modules, learners will receive a badge that can be shared on networking sites such as LinkedIn.
