This foundational course introduces the core concepts, strategies, and systems thinking behind the circular water economy. The course explores how to transition from linear water use models to circular systems that reduce waste, recover resources, and regenerate ecosystems. The course consists of five modules, centered around the three "R"s of circularity:
- Introduction to the Circular Water Economy
- Reduce: Focuses on minimizing water and resource loss, preventing pollution, and conserving water.
- Recover: Explores technologies and practices that enable recovery of resources and use of data for community health monitoring from water systems.
- Regenerate: Looks beyond recovery to ecosystem restoration, climate resilience, long-term sustainability, and equitable access to healthy water environments.
- Elevate: Empowers learners to lead, scale, and advocate for circular water solutions.
