This live webcast will take place on Thursday, June 5, 2025, from 1:00 - 2:30 PM Eastern. The webcast recording will be available within 24 hours after the webcast ends.

Carbon-based advanced treatment (CBAT) is now commonly deployed in advanced water treatment applications using an ozone and bio-filtration process, which couples carbon-based bio-filtration with an upstream pre-oxidant, ozone. CBAT has been shown to be effective for pathogen and chemical removal in bench-, pilot- and full-scale applications. The ozone and bio-filtration process enable inland utilities, direct portable reuse schemes, and others to implement this treatment building block in multi barrier flow sheets to alleviate brine or concentrate management challenges relative to other unit operations, like reverse osmosis, and provide robust chemical and pathogen treatment in a sustainable and cost-effective manner. In this webcast the benefits of CBAT, lessons learned from pilot- and full-scale programs, how CBAT fits into the current active and evolving regulatory landscape, and limitations of CBAT in advanced treatment will be discussed.
